Global and Regional Left Ventricular Function
نویسنده
چکیده
Learning Objectives At the conclusion of this lecture, the participant should be able to: 1. Identify normal and abnormal left ventricular systolic function 2. Perform qualitative and quantitative assessment of left ventricular systolic function 3. Recognize the LV segments and their corresponding coronary distribution 4. Assess regional wall motion in these segments and differentiate between ischemic and non-ischemic etiologies

High myocardial 18F-FDG uptake after chemotherapy in the presence of left ventricular dysfunction as well as 3-month later with no left ventricular dysfunction
Diffusely increased glucose metabolic activity in the right and left ventricles using 2-deoxy-2-(F-18) fluoro-D-glucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (18F-FDGPET/CT) and global left ventricular hypokinesia at echocardiography can be evident in acute myocarditis. But, there has been no case report that the ventricular 18F-FDGuptake remains unchanged even ...
متن کاملRadionuclide assessment of regional left ventricular function in acute myocardial infarction.
To determine changes in global and regional left ventricular function following acute myocardial function, 17 patients underwent radionuclide angiography at 3 and 10 days post infarction. Five patients had nontransmural myocardial infarction and 12 had transmural infarction (six anterior and six inferior). There were no previous infarctions in 16 (94%) patients. Regional ejection fractions were...
متن کاملDetermination of normal ranges of regional and global phase parameters using gated myocardial perfusion imaging with Cedars-Sinai’s QGS software
Introduction: Myocardial perfusion imaging using gated SPECT and phase analysis is an effective tool in evaluation of mechanical dyssynchrony. The purpose of this study was to determine the normal ranges of global and regional phase parameters. Methods: A total of 100 patients with normal resting and stress electrocardiograms, low pretest likelihood for c...
متن کاملGlobal and regional left ventricular function assessment with 16-detector row CT: comparison with echocardiography and cardiovascular magnetic resonance.
AIMS To compare multidetector row computed tomography (MDCT) global and regional left ventricular (LV) function assessment with echocardiography and cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR). METHODS AND RESULTS In 25 patients, who were referred for noninvasive angiography with 16-detector row CT, LV function assessment was also performed. A subsequent echocardiogram was performed, and in a sub...
متن کاملRelationship between regional and global left ventricular systolic and diastolic function in patients with coronary artery disease assessed by strain rate imaging.
BACKGROUND The relationship between regional and global left ventricular function has not been evaluated. The present study aimed to assess whether regional myocardial contraction and relaxation reflect global left ventricular systolic and early diastolic function, respectively. METHODS AND RESULTS The study involved 45 patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). Conventional echocardiograph...
متن کاملThe Relation between Left Ventricular Function and Serum Ferritin in Major Β-Thalassemia
Abstract Objective Cardiac dysfunction is a major cause of death in patients with beta thalassemia. In these patients, repeated blood transfusion, ineffective erythropoiesis and increased gastrointestinal iron absorption lead to iron overload in the body and this induced heart failure. Left ventricular ejection fraction was measured in major beta thalassemia (β-Th) patients to detect the rela...
